A Message from Our Founder
The Story Behind Open Door

Open Door is a calling that God placed on my heart. I struggled to find a church that not only aligned with my core beliefs but also truly reflected Jesus’ ministry. In my frustration, I stepped away from church altogether—a decision I now realize wasn’t the answer. That season led me to question God entirely.

A few years ago, I experienced a severe decline in my mental health. At my lowest point, I turned to Jesus, and by His grace, I received a miraculous healing. As I sought a church home again, I became disheartened by what I encountered—authority preached over love, legalism prioritized over grace, and churches functioning as closed-off communities rather than engaging with the world around them. Politics took center stage from the pulpit, and I saw hypocrisy instead of the vibrant, Spirit-led gatherings described in the early church.
Uncertain of what to do, I prayed. God reminded me of my late grandfather, a pastor and minister. In the final years of his life, he started a micro church and mentored both my father and me in this ministry. That memory ignited a vision in me.

Open Door is not about criticizing or dismantling existing churches—it’s about offering an alternative for those seeking a different experience. It’s about honoring my grandfather’s legacy, glorifying God, and creating a space where people can grow in Christ in a way that truly reflects His love and mission.

If you are deconstructing from religion and seeking a fresh outlet for your faith, if you’re a new believer looking for guidance, if you’re a seasoned Christian desiring more, if you feel called to start a micro church in your community, or if you simply want to learn more about Christ, welcome home.
